“He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.”— Ecclesiastes 3:11

No offense to my British family and friends, but you can tell the Rolling Stones had no clue about Scripture, especially where “time” is concerned. I’m sure they do now, since they are all old. They sang a song back in the 60s called "Time Is On My Side." The opening verse says, “Time is on my side, yes it is.” Well, time is not on our side; one day, we will give an account.

Solomon reminds us that God has placed eternity in every person's heart. That's why we experience a “holy dissatisfaction” with temporary things. It’s because mankind was created for another world, and that inner restlessness points us toward the only One who can truly satisfy.

So today, if you haven't yet committed your life to Jesus Christ, why not do it today? I’m telling you a hundred percent truth: TIME is not on your side. The latter part of 2 Corinthians 6:2 rings true: “For he says, 'In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.'

God has not made eternal life difficult. Read the Gospel of John, and you'll see over and over again that it’s simply believing the good news. The Apostle Paul explained it clearly in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4—that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, and that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.

Heavenly Father, we thank You that while our days are fleeting, Your love is eternal. Thank You for planting that "holy dissatisfaction" in our hearts—a restless longing that reminds us we were made for more than this passing world. Lord, forgive us for living as if time is on our side. Help us to hold this life loosely and cling to the completed work of Your Son, Jesus Christ. For those feeling the inner tug toward eternity, I pray they surrender to You now. We believe the Good News: Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again to give us a life that time cannot touch. Teach us to number our days so we gain wisdom. May we rest in Your perfect timing, trusting the One who holds it all, even when we cannot see the beginning from the end. In Jesus' name, Amen.
