Good morning, my fellow saints in the Lord. I hope you’ve had a wonderful week and that you finish strong this Friday. Here’s our Food for Thought!

I’ve found over the years in my walk that God knows exactly what I need during my devotional times. Today is no exception. We’ve already been in the Psalms a few times this year and today is the same. David writes in Psalm 5:1-3-1 Give ear to my words, O Lord; consider my groaning.  2 Give attention to the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for to you do I pray. 3 O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch.

In these verses, David is in a period of waiting as he cries out to the Lord. Just like us, after he prays, he waits. Waiting doesn’t mean we should worry, fret, or be fearful. Instead, we wait with the expectation that God will respond to our prayers and fill our souls with His promises.

I’ve heard it said that when we pray, we shouldn’t do so flippantly, casually sending up prayers without recognizing that we have royalty in the room. Remember, saint: Jesus is King, and we must not marginalize His position in our lives. When we send our prayers up to the throne room, don’t forget that we are in heaven’s court.

Let me conclude with a saying I read: “Morning prayers sow seeds of selflessness that bear fruit during the day in patience, peace, and productivity.”

Now, plant those morning prayer seeds…

Blessings on your faith journey,

Gene
