Good morning, readers of Food for Thought,

Today, I’d like to draw your attention to Psalm 37:23-24, which states:

23 The steps of a man are established by the Lord,

         when he delights in his way;

24 though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong,

          for the Lord upholds his hand.

If I’m honest, most of you reading this have officially left the nest. Some of you, like me, may have gone into the military, while others went straight to college, got a job, or married. If your parents were anything like most, they felt excitement, sadness, and fear, converging on one big question: Did we do enough to prepare you?

As humans, we spend years preparing ourselves for the future, some practicing their craft, earning a degree, etc., and if we are honest, there will come a day when we have to face the world, which will always include failure. But is it truly a failure if we’ve learned from it?

As believers, we are to conduct our lives in this significant new realm of faith, endeavoring to further the purposes of God's desires for us. Although we may sometimes falter, God has assured us of our ultimate victory. This Friday, many in Christendom will observe a Good Friday service. I do not intend to debate the exact timing of these events; however, we acknowledge that regardless of the specific day on which Jesus died on the cross, He indeed died and was laid in a borrowed tomb. Three days later, He brought forth victory for mankind.

If you experience a stumble or make an error today, please remember who is present to assist you in regaining your footing. God possesses a remarkable plan for our lives, and as long as we submit to His will and diligently follow Jesus, there is nothing we can do to jeopardize it.

Blessings on your journey,

Gene
