I once mentioned in a sermon how much I loved reading many of Oswald Chambers' books. A week later, a church member gave me a compiled edition of his writings, as large as the Family Bible that sat on our coffee table during my childhood.
Listen to Chambers concerning confidence in God’s character: “Faith is deliberate confidence in the character of God whose ways you may not understand at the time.”
No matter your theological beliefs, truly grasping God's mind remains essential. Chambers recognized that developing a conscious faith in God’s character is vital. While we all face decisions in life, even those made sincerely often do not unfold as we expect.
I believe that those who take the time to read my posts are fellow faith walkers. And sometimes, all I can really say is that no matter what challenge you're facing today, this week, or anytime, we can continue to trust and have confidence in the One who created us—sometimes even when things don’t make sense. I'd like to remind us of Paul’s encouraging words in Romans 8:28.—And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
Keep the Faith,
Gene
