“Not one word of all the good promises that the LORD had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass.” —Joshua 21:45
Trusting God can feel easier when the results are clear, but it’s often more challenging when we’re still waiting during the struggles. When Joshua said these words, Israel was finally enjoying peace. Reflecting on it, they could see that after many years of wandering and fighting, God had faithfully kept every promise.
The word "failed" in this verse simply means to fall short or drop to the ground. Rest assured, none of God’s words ever fell to the ground; they all landed precisely where He intended, showcasing His perfect promise and purpose.
Maybe you're waiting for a promise to come true, or feeling worried that your current struggles mean God has forgotten you. Joshua 21:45 encourages us to remember our Father's faithful track record. If He has spoken it, He will bring it to pass. His timing may be different from ours, but His faithfulness is sure. When God makes a promise, He puts His very character on the line, and we can trust Him completely. Today, you can find peace in knowing that all His good words to you will come true.
Heavenly Father, thank You so much for Your unwavering faithfulness. I am grateful that You are not like us, capable of lying or failing to keep Your promises. Please forgive me whenever I have doubted Your promises, especially during overwhelming times. Help me to cling to Your Word, trusting that it is unbreakable and sure. I find peace today in the beautiful truth that every good promise You have spoken over my life will surely come to pass in Your perfect timing. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Trusting His Timing with you,
Gene
