“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.”— Proverbs 18:10

When we go through trials and tough times, it’s common to feel vulnerable, like a traveler caught in a sudden storm. We look to the horizon for an escape, but often overlook that it’s within the storm itself that God comes close with His deepest comfort. His protection might not always mean the trial disappears, but as I’ve heard said, He’s our ‘supernatural security’ who stays unshaken, no matter the chaos surrounding us.

Whenever we feel like our strength has run out, Scripture gently reminds us that God's provision goes beyond just meeting our physical needs—it's also about the spiritual nourishment we find in Christ. Just as He graciously provided manna for the Israelites in the desert, He lovingly provides exactly what we need for today. We're encouraged to intentionally focus on His goodness, trusting that the One who holds the universe also keeps us safe in His "righteous right hand”.

Let me suggest three things for each of us to do when going through the trial:

  1. Run to the Fortress: When fear rises, choose to focus on God's character. His "name"—His glory and identity—is your shelter.
  2. Trust for Today: Instead of worrying about future "what-ifs," ask God to show how He's meeting your needs now.
  3. Find Rest: Remember Jesus invites the weary to come to Him for rest. You don't have to fight alone; His presence is your strength.

Father, thank You for being my fortress and provider. When overwhelmed, help me run to You first. Thank You for Jesus' provision and Your promise to never leave me. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
